Culture, Community, and Murals of Lake Street
Art has been the thread weaving together recovery on East Lake Street—brightening spaces with murals, galvanizing businesses through mutual support funds, drawing in transit investment, and activating public life with inclusive events. Through coordinated efforts by residents, entrepreneurs, artists, nonprofits, and government, the neighborhood continues to heal, rebuild, and thrive—even as challenges remain.
