For those completely new to sewing. Learn how to use your machine, useful tools, seams, and finishes, and complete a small book bag project. Making alterations to store-bought clothes, especially jeans, can be tricky. Discover different options for shortening your jeans including leg shaping. Build skills in waist and back fitting using practice fabric before tackling your favorite jeans. Bring your own sewing machine to class. View full supply list online. If you're ready to jump right in, bring topstitching thread that matches your garment along with the jeans. A JEANS or DENIM needle in size 16/100 or 18/110 will help a great deal. A workshop is a great way to learn the craft of paper books; making lots of different shapes and types. You’ll be delighted at what you can produce from paper. Bring scissors, ruler, pencil, and small cutting mat (if you have one).

All essential oils and most colorants are foraged by the instructor; items that cannot be foraged are purchased from a local Dakota medicine shop. Build your own Knitting Nancy and start stitching right away. Bring a crochet hook, a skein of worsted‑weight yarn (variegated is especially fun), and a small hammer if you have one.

Ages 18 and up. Hammer in hand, iron heated in the coal forge, anvil at the ready, strike up a new skill in blacksmithing. Spend the day creating a hand-forged project to take home; S-hook or a drive hook. No previous experience necessary. Bring basic safety equipment to class- see below. Safety Equipment: safety glasses, hearing protection, clothing of natural fiber with no cuffs or fraying, cotton or leather gloves and closed-toe leather boots or shoes. There will be a lunch break from 12:00-1:00PM. Participants are welcome to bring a lunch or procure lunch from a local eatery. Bring a water bottle to class.
