Adult Beginning
Learn essential swimming skills in a supportive environment tailored for adults. This class covers fundamental techniques including floating, gliding, and kicking, while introducing the basics of front crawl, back crawl, and elementary backstroke. Locker rooms will be available for changing out of swim attire after class. Showers will not be available. Please come prepared to swim and free of lotions, and other body and hair products. Plan to shower at home after class. Bathrooms will still be available. -
Adult Beginning: Fearful Adult
Designed for adults who feel anxious or fearful around the water. Learn basic strokes and proper breathing techniques in a calm, supportive environment. Locker rooms will be available for changing out of swim attire after class. Showers will not be available. Please come prepared to swim and free of lotions, and other body and hair products. Plan to shower at home after class. Bathrooms will still be available. -
Pi-Yo-Chi
Develop strength, range of motion, balance, and relaxation by combining the core strengthening exercises of Pilates, the lengthening and balancing poses of yoga and the flowing movements of tai chi. The warm water provides neutral support, ease of movement, variable resistance, and balanced postural alignment making the class accessible to all fitness levels. Locker rooms will be available for changing out of swim attire after class. Showers will be available for use. Please come prepared to swim and free of lotions, and other body and hair products. -
Water Workout
Experience a fun, water-based workout that challenges your heart and shapes your muscles. Set to an upbeat, motivating playlist, this session focuses on targeted body toning using the natural resistance of the water. Locker rooms will be available for changing out of swim attire after class. Showers will not be available. Please come prepared to swim and free of lotions, and other body and hair products. Swim Instructor Training
Are you interested in helping others learn to swim? Join our training course and learn how to teach swim lessons for all ages, from toddler to adult!Requirements: Be 14 years or older Demonstrate reliability, responsibility, and strong swimming skills Complete a skills pre-test on the first day. You must confidently demonstrate Level 5 skill-level proficiency in several swimming strokes including: 25 yards of front crawl, back crawl, breaststroke, sidestroke, and elementary backstroke, as well as 15 yards of butterfly. You must also tread water for 2 minutes and perform a standing dive. How the Training Works: Participate in classroom learning and in-pool training Certification awarded upon successful completion of all training components What You’ll Do: Teach swim lessons by demonstrating strong swimming skills, providing clear instruction, and encouraging swimmers’ progress. Help create a safe, positive, and energetic learning environment. Build communication and teaching skills in real time. After you finish the course, you can apply for aquatics positions, build experience, and earn money along the way. Community Education Aquatics is hiring! Wages start at $18/hour depending on the job. Participants unable to pass the skills pre-test will be refunded the course fee minus a $10 processing fee.
