Driver Education In-Person + Behind The Wheel
The Basics: Get ready to hit the road with SPPS Community Education! This comprehensive course, taught by highly trained licensed classroom instructors, includes 30 hours of state-required classroom instruction and 6 hours of hands-on behind-the-wheel lessons. Students must be 15 years old by the first day of class and attend all 30 hours of classroom instruction consecutively to best prepare students for the written permit test. Upon completing the classroom portion, students will receive an e-card email of completion and have 18 months to get their driver's permit and complete the behind-the-wheel training. To get your license, you’ll need to: hold your permit for at least 6 months, complete 6 hours of behind-the-wheel training, log 40-50 hours of supervised driving and be 16 years old before you can take the road test. Refunds, minus a $100 cancellation fee, will be issued upon request for course cancellation if requested more than three-business days prior. We are unable to issue refunds for requests received after that time. For more information about the licensing process and a full list of program procedures visit spps.org/teendriver.
