Youth or adult beginners are welcome. Learn or review the basics of reading notes, rhythm, technique and harmony. Students need access to a piano or keyboard to practice. A Taste of Blacksmithing
Ages 18 and up. Hammer in hand, iron heated in the coal forge, anvil at the ready, strike up a new skill in blacksmithing. Spend the day creating a hand-forged project to take home; S-hook or a drive hook. No previous experience necessary. Bring basic safety equipment to class- see below. Safety Equipment: safety glasses, hearing protection, clothing of natural fiber with no cuffs or fraying, cotton or leather gloves and closed-toe leather boots or shoes. There will be a lunch break from 12:00-1:00PM. Participants are welcome to bring a lunch or procure lunch from a local eatery. Bring a water bottle to class. -

Intermediate Pottery & Wheelwork: Teapot
Prerequisite: Must already have basic wheel throw skills. This is not a beginner's class. Create a functional, expressive teapot in this 5-week clay class for students with some clay experience. Learn to design and build forms, spouts, lids, and handles using handbuilding or wheel techniques. Explore surface decoration and glazing while developing craftsmanship and problem-solving skills. -

Flamework Fundamentals: Italian Glass Beads
Get acquainted with working a torch and Italian soft glass. Learn safety protocol, tool and equipment use, and beginner flameworking techniques. Build confidence exploring glass manipulation, shaping techniques and surface decoration. Leave class with 4-6 beads. Please note the following before registering: *Wear closed toe shoes/work boots and dress in layers. Wear natural fiber clothing with long sleeves and pants. *It is recommended that you bring your own work gloves and safety glasses. If you can't, there will be some to use; you will be asked to help sanitize them after use. *Bring a water bottle as it can get hot in the shop, especially during the summer months -
