Nature Discovery Pre-KSaint Paul Public Schools Nature Discovery Pre-Kindergarten is a fee-based program offering both full and 1/2 day Pre-K options, with extended day and after-school childcare options through Discovery Club (DC). Nature Discovery Pre-K class is open to children that turn 3 years old by September 1 and are not Kindergarten eligible. Nature PreK provides licensed teachers and curriculum that focuses on learning in a nature-based setting as well as bringing nature into the classroom. This program will run on the Saint Paul Public Schools calendar. 2026-27 Nature PreK Registration Opens on Monday, January 5, 2026 at 9:00 AM! 2026-27 SCHOOL YEAR INFORMATION 2026-27 CLASSES & FEES: Afterschool childcare is available at both sites for Pre-K students 4 years old by September 1. Please see spps.org/discoveryclub for more information. 2026-27 REGISTRATION GUIDELINES Enrollment is not guaranteed and is based on space availability. Once you complete the online registration, you will be put on a “pending approval status” in the order the registration is received. Your credit card will not be charged for the registration fee until your child is confirmed in the program. Once you are approved, you will receive an email confirmation and your credit card will be charged the registration fee. Annual preschool registration requires a non-refundable fee of $79. After registrations meet the maximum number, additional registrations go onto the waitlist and if space becomes available, you will be notified. Monthly tuition is processed on the first Friday of each month. CANCELLATION POLICY: When you register for preschool you are registering for the entire school year: Sept.-May. Cancellation midyear requires a 1-week written notice and a $50 cancellation fee. If you cancel between June 30-August 1 you will be charged a $75 cancellation fee. If you cancel on or after August 1, 2026, you will be responsible for the first month FULL tuition. AFTER SCHOOL CARE Discovery Club is available to students aged 4 and older (by September 1). ObamaDiscovery ClubRegistration for the upcoming 2025-2026 School Year: Currently enrolled 2025-2026 school year families: Registration opens on Monday, April 14, 2026 at 9:00 am. Families not currently enrolled in the 2025-2026 school year and/or new to Discovery Club: Registration will open on Monday, April 27, 2026 at 9:00 am. If a request is submitted before April 27th, it will be removed and you’ll need to submit a new contract when open registration begins. Registration Information Contracts (accepted or pending) do not carry over from summer to school year or year to year. All families, including families on the wait list, must register annually for any future care. Contracts from families not currently enrolled for the school year received prior to April 27 will be removed and families will need to re-register on April 27 at 9:00 am. Registrations will be reviewed in the order that they were received by our online system, and could take up to 10 business days to process. In order for a registration to be processed, all program balances must be paid in full. Accounts with a balance overdue will not be processed. Students must be enrolled and attending in the St. Paul Public School District in order to receive Discovery Club child care services. (We do not offer care to out-of-district students in our program during the school year. This includes families who live within the district boundaries but attend a charter or private school.) 2025-2026 Child Care Rates Families can select before school care, after school care, or a combination based on your child’s school schedule. Days of care may range from three to five days per week, per care session. Contracted days must remain the same for each week. Non-Refundable Registration Fee: $49.00/child/contract charged at the time that the contract is accepted. Before School Offered for students who attend schools with an 8:30 a.m. or 9:30 a.m. start time 6:30 - 8:30 a.m. $12.40/day $62.00/week 6:30 - 9:30 a.m. $18.55/day $92.75/week After School Starts at the end of the school's regular day and goes until 6:00 p.m. Snack provided 2:00 - 6:00 p.m. $24.75/day $123.75/week 3:00 - 6:00 p.m. $18.55/day $92.75/week 4:00 - 6:00 p.m. $12.40/day $62.00/week Drop-in days add $5.00/session/day; available to children currently enrolled and subject to space available. Families are invoiced bi-weekly, after the care happens and payments are due on the following Friday. Accounts will receive a late payment fee if balance is not paid on the due date. Accounts past due are subject to withdrawal of contracted care.
